No. Corda does not make sound or replace your guitar. It is a visual app for saving, understanding, and organizing the chords you discover.

Yes. Alongside Standard, Drop D, DADGAD, and Half-Step Down, you can create a custom tuning when adding or editing a chord.

This is by design. What defines a chord is which strings sound at which frets, not the technique used to get there: a full barre, a partial barre, or, when the shape allows it, separate fingers can all produce the same notes. Since the most comfortable technique often depends on the chord right before or right after it, Corda leaves that choice to you instead of assuming one. This also means every fretted dot keeps its own note visible, instead of being grouped under a bar.

Yes. Once your Workshop contains chords, you can export it as an image file (PNG) or a document (PDF).

Corda can follow your system language or be set to French, English, German, Spanish, or Italian. The app restarts after a language change.

Choose Save Corda, or press ⌘E. Corda creates a .corda file containing all your chords and collections, ready to keep safely or move to another Mac.

Choose Restore a backup, or press ⌘I, then select your .corda file. You can add its contents to your existing library, with duplicates skipped, or replace your library entirely after confirmation.

No. Corda works entirely offline. There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no internet connection required to use the app.
