1. Introduction

Corda is a macOS app designed to create, organize, explore, and export guitar chords.

This policy explains how data is handled in the Corda app, on the Corda website, and when you contact us.

2. The Corda app

Corda works entirely offline. It does not require an account or sign-in, and it does not transmit your data over the internet.

In its normal operation, Corda does not collect personal data.

3. Data stored on your Mac

Chords, collections, favorites, notes, settings, workshops, and backups created in Corda are stored locally on your Mac.

Corda does not use iCloud and does not synchronize data between devices. Your data remains under your control and can be modified, deleted, exported, or imported through the app's features.

4. Files and macOS permissions

Corda allows you to export certain content as PNG, PDF, or .corda archives. These files are created at your request and saved to a location you choose on your Mac.

Corda may use standard macOS mechanisms to let you choose files or locations for import and export. These accesses are used only to perform the action you request.

5. Third-party services in the app

Corda contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, tracking, or external crash reporting.

Corda does not sell, rent, or share your in-app data with third parties.

6. Website visits

The Corda website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It does not use advertising or analytics scripts.

When you visit the website, Cloudflare may process limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser or device information, and request logs, as necessary to deliver, secure, and operate the website. We do not use this information for advertising, tracking, or marketing profiling. Cloudflare operates a global network, and this information may be processed in countries outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area.

If your browser is set to a different language than the page you are viewing, the website may show a small banner suggesting an available translation. If you dismiss the banner or choose a suggested language, a minimal preference is stored in your browser's local storage so it does not reappear. This is the only information the website stores locally; it stays on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party.

7. Support emails

This website has no contact form. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to reply to you, provide support, or handle your request.

Support email is provided through Gmail, a Google service. Google processes these emails to provide email delivery and inbox services, and may process this information in countries outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area. You can learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.

Support emails are retained for up to six months after the last exchange, unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

8. Your choices and rights

You can delete your chords, collections, and other content directly within Corda. Corda also offers a library reset, which deletes user data from the app according to the behavior described in the interface.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights over the personal data contained in your email correspondence with Corda, including the right to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and, where applicable, data portability. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. Where provided by applicable law, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

We handle this correspondence based on our legitimate interest in providing and securing the website and in responding to your messages, and, where relevant, based on the steps necessary to respond to a request you make before entering into a contract with us.

We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity before responding to a request.

9. Children

On the Apple App Store, Corda is rated 4+, suitable for all ages. The app does not collect personal information from children.
